Asian model, author, and artist Jinky Coronado, winner of a dozen beauty competitions as well as a former Miss Pond's Asia, writes and illustrates BANZAI GIRL, a fanciful action/adventure version of her real-life schoolgirl adventures.

A graduate of the University of San Augustine with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Design & Illustration, Jinky Coronado studied comics design, storytelling, scriptwriting, and illustration in a series of Glass House Graphics seminars in Manila over a two-year period.

Not long afterward, she moved to the United States and headed straight to a comic convention in an Asian schoolgirl uniform. The positive response from convention-goers sparked the concept for BANZAI GIRL, a limited series slated for release in late summer 2002.
